Our Nursery children had a really good time at the farm. They stroked the guinea pigs and rabbits, held a chick, fed the sheep and goats, and gave a lamb a drink of milk. It was funny when a llama tried to chase the tractor!
Thank you to all of the parents who went along to help. (Please visit the Nursery gallery to see more images).

Year 6 – Kirsty (Burt from Ratburger)
The Royal Visit
On Wednesday 2nd March, Consett Academy was officially opened by the Duke of Gloucester. He arrived in style by helicopter. Daisy (Y6), Hannah (Y5) and Benjamin (Y4) represented Leadgate Primary School by waving flags and cheering to welcome the very special visitor. The children designed a special celebration cake to mark the occasion.
Dance Festival
Years 3 and 4 showed off their fabulous dancing at Consett Empire on Thursday morning. Year 3 performed some tricky dance moves to ‘Fields of Gold’ by Sting. Year 4’s dance was ‘Men in black’ by Will Smith, and they demonstrated great attitude and enthusiasm. Well done!
Valentine’s Lunch and Disco
The Lower School had a lovely Valentine’s Day lunch.
The children on each site celebrated the end of term with a disco. Who was the best dancer?!
Safer Internet Day
All of the children have found out about how to keep safe when using the Internet.
The Nursery have found out about Hector the dolphin who can hide the computer screen in school.
You can find out about Hector here:

Key Stage 1 children had an assembly which included an animation to encourage everyone to use the Internet with an adult and to remember to go to an adult for help.
Key Stage 2 children also had an assembly, with each class taking part with their own presentation:
Class 3 talked about password security and how to make a strong password.
Class 4 presented some brilliant role-plays about ‘Stranger Danger’ online.
Class 5 told us about the dangers of social media and how to block messages.
Class 6 shared useful information about staying safe when gaming online.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
