Pictures of rainbows have been appearing in windows since schools closed.
Would your child like to pass on their own happy message to everyone in our school community?
Here’s what to do!
• Decide what you’d like to use to make a picture. It might be crayons, pencils, felt tips, gel pens, paint, collage materials, a computer paint program.
• If you want to write your name on your picture, use first name only.
• When you’ve finished, take a photo of your art work.
• Email the photo of your picture to school by Thursday 9 April: p2259.admin@durhamlearning.net
• Pictures will displayed in a special gallery on our school website.
Stay safe and keep smiling!

Our Year 6 children have started their residential visit at the Kingsway Centre today.
Residential is an important part of growing into Year 6 and preparation for the move to secondary school. It allows our children to develop in themselves and their character. They learn new leadership skills and a growth in confidence. It helps them in problem solving, learning to think in a completely different perspective than is required when in the classroom. They develop responsibility in organising themselves and develop team responsibility – learning that they form an important part of a team and that their contribution matters. They learn to assess and manage risk to them selves and other under the guidance on teachers and trained centre staff. Consequently they return to school motivated by their experiences and ready to face further challenges whilst in a safe and supportive environment. All of this contributes to their personal and academic growth.
Day One (Monday)- Arrival, indoor games and Den / Shelter Building using cooperation and communication,
Followed by learning bush craft skills and toasting marshmallows,
Followed by bingo and taking responsibility by cleaning up at the end of the day.
Day Two (Tuesday)- Hill walking and sledging – with time for snow angels and applying learnt skills by making hot juice,
followed by Indoor archery and crate stacking challenge,
And ending the day with team games and quiz.
Day 3 (Wednesday) – Team building and crate racing,
followed by the Ultimate Crate Race!
